Gear Transmission Characteristics of Gear Reducer and Working Conditions of Gear Oil;
The transmission efficiency of gears is high, and the transmission efficiency of general cylindrical gears can reach 98%. Compared with bearings, the equivalent curve radius of gears is small and the oil wedge condition is poor.
The gear transmission teeth are in linear contact with each other, so the contact area is small and the unit contact pressure is high. The unit contact pressure of general automobile gears can reach 2000-3000MPa, while that of hyperbolic gears is higher, reaching 3000-4000MPa.
Gear transmission not only has wired contact, but also has sliding contact, especially hyperbolic gear, which has relatively high relative sliding speed between gear teeth, generally reaching about 8m/o. Under the condition of high speed and heavy load, the oil film will become thinner or even partially cracked, resulting in intensified friction and wear, and even scratches and occlusion.
The working temperature of gear oil is generally lower than that of internal combustion engine oil, which varies with the change of ambient temperature to a large extent. The oil temperature of vehicle gear oil is generally not higher than 100 'C. Modern cars use hyperbolic gears. Due to the large offset of their axes, the relative sliding speed between gear surfaces is very high when the vehicle speed is high, making the oil temperature reach 160' C-180 'C.
